ABOUT THE PROJECT
Connect people to nature using open-source software and a focused approach
Before starting the SF Nature Mapping Project, Sheffield built San Francisco's habitat map for the City of San Francisco and the website for the Alliance for Natural Areas
All of the code for our maps is available on GitHub
Since 2014, the SF Nature Mapping Project has partnered with various groups to meet their mapping needs. We first partnered with local stakeholders to map SF families' favorite places to experience nature before teaming up with local astronomers (SFAA) to map stargazing sites for beginners.
The project was launched at the EcoHack2014 hackathon in San Francisco (right).
